This is the first core course in the Master of Urban Design digital media stream, and is designed to introduce Master of Urban Design students to urban analytical tools and representation techniques.
The course positions drawing as a process of inquiry and exploration. Over the course of eight weeks, students develop technical skills in programs including Rhino, Grasshopper, ArcGIS, and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign. Students learn to gather spatial information and represent urban conditions through combining techniques and applications. Developed and taught for three years – Fall 2017, 2018, and 2019.
